Year-end inflation expectation rises

The year-end inflation expectation of market participants increased to 28.30 percent. However, a slight decrease was recorded in the 12-month inflation expectation.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) announced the Market Participants Survey results for February.
According to the results, market participants’ year-end Consumer Price Index (CPI) expectation rose from 27.05 percent to 28.30 percent.
While the 12-month CPI expectation was 25.38 in the previous survey period, it decreased to 25.26 in this survey period. The 24-month CPI expectation, on the other hand, was 17.72 and 17.26 in the same survey periods.
Participants’ three-month interest rate expectation decreased from 40.91 in the previous survey period to 40 in this survey period.
The year-end exchange rate expectation (US Dollar/TRY) was 43.03 TL in the previous survey period, but it was 42.89 Lira in this survey period. The 12-month exchange rate expectation was 43.81 TL in the previous survey period, increasing to 43.96 TL in this survey period.
