New Regulation for Traffic Fines: Increased Penalties for Speeding, Red Light Violation, and Unsafe Lane Change!

A new regulation that will increase traffic fines is being prepared. The draft law, expected to be on the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, will raise penalties for those exceeding the speed limit, violating red lights, and making unsafe lane changes.

According to information received, AK Party MPs, under the leadership of Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, have started preparing a draft law containing regulations to increase the lower and upper limits of administrative fines given to those who do not comply with traffic rules. With the draft, administrative fines for those speeding, running red lights, making unsafe lane changes, and not following turning rules will be increased.

Currently, those exceeding the speed limit are fined between 2,167 lira and 9,267 lira. Those running red lights and violating lane regulations are fined 2,167 lira, while those not complying with turning and passing rules face a penalty of 993 lira.
