When will inflation data be announced? Expectations for inflation in March

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) will, as usual, share the inflation data for March with the public in line with the set schedule. The inflation rates for March will be announced to the citizens in the first week of April. The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) consistently shares the inflation data on the 3rd of each month with the public. In this context, the anticipation for what the inflation data for March will reveal is high. According to the shared schedule, the said data will be accessible as of 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025. The announcement of inflation rates holds significant importance for experts, investors, and citizens closely monitoring the economy. The released data serves as a crucial indicator that can affect both market developments and individuals’ purchasing power. Given the recent economic fluctuations, it is expected that these figures to be disclosed by TÜİK will be carefully examined within economic circles. The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) published the Market Participants Survey for the month of March, conducted with 68 participants consisting of representatives from the real and financial sectors, as well as professionals. Accordingly, the expectation for the March CPI increase, which was 2.26% last month, rose to 2.27% in this survey period. The expectation for the full-year CPI increase decreased from 28.30% to 28.04%. The expected increase in the CPI for 12 months from now dropped from 25.26% to 24.55%, while for 24 months from now, it decreased from 17.26% to 17.06%. Participants’ year-end USD/TRY expectation decreased from 42.8869 to 42.7907, while the expectation for USD/TRY in 12 months increased from 43.9612 to 44.4165. The year-end current account deficit expectation, which was 18.8 billion dollars in the previous survey period, increased to 19.4 billion dollars in this period. The expectation for the current account deficit for the next year also reached 24.5 billion dollars.
