Update on Personal Loan Limits by BDDK

The Banking Regulation and Supervision Board (BDDK) has increased the personal loan limits to 125 thousand lira for loan terms up to 36 months and between 125 thousand and 250 thousand lira for loan terms up to 24 months.
BDDK has decided to change the general loan term limits for consumer loans.
According to the decision made by the board, changes have been made to the limits for personal loans with terms of 12, 24, and 36 months. As per the statement from BDDK, the personal loan limit for terms up to 36 months has been increased from 50 thousand lira to 125 thousand lira. For terms up to 24 months, loans below 50 thousand and 100 thousand lira used to be provided, now this range has been raised to between 125 thousand and 250 thousand lira. With the new decision, the personal loan limit for terms up to 12 months has been raised from 100 thousand lira to 250 thousand lira. The statement also mentioned, “In line with the macro-prudential steps taken for ensuring financial stability, the monetary amounts in the general term limits for consumer loans determined within the scope of BDDK’s Decision dated February 13 and numbered 11152; within the framework of the Board’s Decision dated June 9, 2022 and numbered 10222, have been updated taking into account macroeconomic data.” The last change in loan limits was made on June 9, 2022.
