Samsun is set to become a production hub with the establishment of a factory by Chinese automaker Chery and the Machinery Chemical Industry. Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Halit Doğan stated that the city will transform into a production center with new investments. Mayor of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality (SMM) Halit Doğan announced that the city will evolve into a production hub with investments from Chinese automotive brand Chery and the Machinery Chemical Industry (MKE). In a written statement, Doğan shared the latest developments regarding the Chery automotive brand and MKE’s Çarşamba Production Campus. Emphasizing that the introduction of these investments to the city will strengthen its power, Doğan said, “These significant investments will enhance the power of our city, which contributes significantly to the Turkey Century with its developing industry, growing economy, young and talented workforce, investment, production, employment, and export-oriented growth strategy. Our people in Samsun will no longer have to go abroad to work.” Doğan stated, “SAMSUN AND CHERY TO EARN 1 BILLION DOLLARS” Doğan emphasized that various critical steps have been taken to maximize Samsun’s potential, which has substantial potential in various fields from industry to agriculture, economy to education. He mentioned that Chery will establish a production campus in the New Organized Industrial Zone in Tekkeköy district of Samsun, continuing, “Our President and Chairman, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, thanked the company officials for choosing Samsun for their investment during his meeting with Chery representatives at the Presidential Complex. Samsun and Chery will earn 1 billion dollars with this investment. It will also provide employment for more than five thousand people.
