I blame our leaders for allowing this to happen. If they made such great deals with the U.S., benefited from the U.S., in production, almost in every aspect you could think of, who can blame them for that.” Trump emphasized that all they want is reciprocity. President Trump had signed an order on February 1st imposing a 25% additional tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico, and a 10% on imports from China. On February 3rd, Trump announced that the tariffs on Canada and Mexico were suspended for 30 days in exchange for increasing border security.
