He noted that most of these drugs, mostly in the form of fentanyl, are produced in China and supplied from that country. Trump emphasized that last year, over 100,000 people lost their lives due to these dangerous and addictive drugs, with millions dying in the past 20 years. He pointed out that the families of the victims are devastated and often nearly destroyed, stating: “We cannot allow this scourge to continue harming the United States, so the tariffs planned to take effect on March 4th will be implemented until this situation comes to an end or is significantly restricted. Additionally, a 10% additional tariff will be imposed on China on the same date. The reciprocal tariff will remain valid until April 2nd.”
