Transition to Online Training in Occupational Safety for Tradesmen

From now on, tradesmen will be able to complete occupational health and safety training online. The Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK) and the Vocational Training and Research Center for Labor and Social Security (ÇASGEM) have signed a protocol on occupational health and safety (OHS) training. TESK President Palandöken announced that occupational health and safety training can now be easily completed through the online system. According to the protocol, tradesmen and employees who successfully complete the 16-hour training by accessing the confederation’s official website will be entitled to receive the necessary certificate. Palandöken stated, “If a tradesman says, ‘I don’t need this certificate, I have my son, daughter, or employee in my business, let’s authorize them,’ the relevant person can take the training.” Since the training will be entirely conducted in electronic format, there will be no job loss or need to close shops. Palandöken mentioned that occupational health and safety certificates are usually provided at high prices, around 8,000-10,000 lira, and added, “Through the TESK-ÇASGEM collaboration, we are making our protocol accessible to tradesmen for a symbolic price of 250 lira.”
