EXPECTATION OF INCREASED EXPORTS
Onur Girdap, the President of the Greenhouse Investors and Producers Association (SERA-BİR), emphasized the importance of the first three months’ tomato export figures to the country’s economy. Girdap stated that they expect the export figures to reach a good level even in the first half of this year. He said, “The first three months of tomato exports are crucial for our producers, exporters, and the country’s economy.”
The climate conditions this year were harsher compared to 2024, affecting our production. Despite a slight decrease in our export figures from the previous year, I believe that we have a bright future ahead, and we will quickly recover and surpass this gap in the upcoming period.
The data from the greenhouses indicates that our export figures will further increase.”
