Minister of Trade, Ömer Bolat, announced the formation of a working group regarding the customs duties announced by the USA. Minister of Trade, Ömer Bolat, stated that they have established a working group with participation from other ministries regarding the customs duties announced by the USA. Assessing the intensified trade diplomacy and international relations, Bolat announced that the working group will hold a crucial meeting in Ankara today. Minister Bolat expressed, “Being vigilant, on alert, without panicking, being prepared, constantly conducting impact analyses by working on the effects of changing decisions on products and sectors, and keeping negotiations active and ongoing in a way that benefits both sides, that’s what we are doing.” He added, “I am sending an official letter.” Bolat mentioned, “We have had contacts with the Deputy Secretary of Commerce of the USA at the level of deputy ministers. I am also sending an official letter to the US Secretary of Commerce and we seek negotiations. Indeed, the US side has also stated, regarding these new policies, ‘We are open to negotiations with countries.'”
