Support to Be Provided to 52 Thousand SMEs

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Administration (KOSGEB) will provide support to 52 thousand SMEs in various fields by 2025. The number of female entrepreneurs supported this year will rise to 8,500. Last year, KOSGEB contributed to 7,041 women entrepreneurs through entrepreneurship support, and this year, it plans to increase that number to 8,500. It is expected that the share of support provided to women in 2025 will reach 27% of total entrepreneurship support. KOSGEB, aiming to help SMEs, crucial components in economic and social development, open up to international markets and enhance their export capacities, continues to increase its support accordingly. Efforts are being made for SMEs to increase production in the middle-high and high technology sectors through KOSGEB support. It is planned to provide support to 2,200 businesses in this regard by 2025. The goal is for the share of support provided to middle-high and high technology businesses to exceed 26% of all KOSGEB support. This is expected to lead to high technology products that will increase the country’s competitiveness in international markets and commercialization. Support will also be given to projects in the area of twin transformation which aim to reduce the environmental impact and adopt sustainability principles. In this context, 1,100 businesses will be supported. The administration will also be by the side of businesses in digital transformation, the other aspect of twin transformation. KOSGEB is expected to support the investment expenses of businesses in digital transformation with a number exceeding 120 this year. KOSGEB also provides support for technological product investments. The aim is for the number of technological products invested in with KOSGEB support to reach 50 by 2025. It is planned for the number of domestically produced products supported by the presidency to be 15 this year. The institution, which supports efforts to increase SME exports, aims to raise the share of SMEs in exports to 34% this year. The presidency is also working to support businesses in the financing sector. The plan is for KOSGEB to provide financing support to 1,250 businesses by 2025. KOSGEB plans to support 2,200 businesses this year to enhance their capacity. The institution also aims to increase the share of manufacturing industry in its support this year. It is expected that the share of manufacturing industry within the administration support, which was 72.6% last year, will reach 74% this year.
