Stock market starts the new week with a 0.26% increase

The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul began the new week with an upward trend. At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose by 28.41 points and 0.26% to reach 10,869.00 points compared to the previous closing. The banking index gained 0.21%, while the holding index increased by 0.72%. Among the sector indices, construction showed the most significant gain with 1.10%, while mining had the most substantial loss with 1.78%. In the domestic market, Borsa Istanbul, which followed a buying-weighted course on Friday, ended the day at 10,840.59 points with a 1.05% gain. Global markets highlight a positive trend with data indicating that inflation remains under control in the US and China’s new economic stimulus measures. On the other hand, Borsa Istanbul decided to implement the upward tick rule in short selling transactions for shares included in the BIST 50 index for one trading session today. Analysts mentioned that domestically, budget balance would be monitored, while retail sales in the US and the New York Fed manufacturing index would be followed internationally. From a technical standpoint, they noted that the 10,900 and 11,000 points are resistance levels, with 10,800 and 10,700 as support levels for the BIST 100 index.
