The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day with a decline. The index fell by 0.26 percent to 9,369.37 points. Following a sales-oriented trend yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day with a 0.32 percent loss at 9,393.79 points. At the opening, the BIST 100 index decreased to 9,369.37 points, down by 24.42 points and 0.26 percent compared to the previous closing. The banking index lost 0.27 percent, while the holding index lost 0.11 percent. Among the sector indices, the most gained was the financial leasing factoring with 0.57 percent, while construction was the biggest loser with 1.60 percent. New developments regarding tariff tensions between the US and China increased risk perception in recovering global markets, with attention now turning to the speech of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell today. Analysts pointed out that today’s domestic housing sales statistics, along with Powell’s statements abroad, inflation in the Eurozone, and industrial production in the US, will be highlighted. From a technical standpoint, the BIST 100 index’s support is at 9,300 and 9,200 points, with resistance levels at 9,400 and 9,500.
