Stock market started the week with an increase

The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the week with a 0.96% increase, opening at 9,694.37 points. The stock market began the new week on a positive note. At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose by 92.21 points and 0.96% to reach 9,694.37 points compared to the previous closing. The banking index increased by 1.17%, while the holding index gained 0.96%. All sector indices rose, with financial leasing factoring leading the way with a 2.11% gain. In the local market, the BIST 100 index ended Friday with a 2.09% loss, closing at 9,602.16 points. Global markets started the new week on a negative trend due to concerns about the consequences of the US customs duties and protectionist trade policies. Furthermore, Borsa Istanbul announced that the up-tick rule would be applied throughout the day for short selling transactions for shares listed in the BIST 50 Index. Analysts noted that technically, the BIST 100 index has resistance at 9,750 and 9,850 points, with support levels at 9,650 and 9,550.
