The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day with a 1.76% increase, beginning at 9,462.68 points. The positive trend continues on the second day of the week in the stock market. At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose by 163.32 points and 1.76% from the previous closing, reaching 9,462.68 points. The banking index increased by 3.15% and the holding index increased by 1.32%. Among the sector indices, banks were the biggest gainers, while investment trusts were the only ones to lose with a 0.44% decrease. In the domestic market, the BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul followed an upward trend yesterday, finishing the day at 9,299.36 points with a 2.82% increase. In global markets, the tariff decisions of US President Donald Trump continue to make it difficult for markets to find direction. Uncertainties regarding the effects of the protectionist trade stance of the US worldwide, as well as the dilemma of inflation and recession, continue to be the main agenda items for economies. Analysts noted that technically, the 9,500 and 9,600 levels are resistance levels in the BIST 100 index, while 9,400 and 9,300 points serve as support.
