Stock market started the day with an increase

The BIST 100 index on the Borsa Istanbul started the day with a rise of 0.88 percent at 9,984.67 points.
The stock market began the day near the 10,000 point mark. At the opening, the BIST 100 index increased by 86.66 points and 0.88 percent from the previous closing, reaching 9,984.67 points.
The banking index gained 1.37 percent, while the holding index increased by 0.91 percent. Among the sector indices, the bank sector gained the most, while the food and beverage sector lost the most with 0.53 percent. In the domestic market, the BIST 100 index closed 0.13 percent lower at 9,898.01 points after a sales-oriented trend in Borsa Istanbul yesterday. Global markets are trying to find direction under the shadow of the tariff duel created by retaliations from Mexico and Canada against the customs duties imposed by the US, while the message of China’s government on “protecting the trading system” in Asia is easing concerns. Additionally, Borsa Istanbul announced that the upward step rule for short selling transactions in shares listed on the BIST 50 index will continue today. Analysts noted that technically the BIST 100 index has resistance levels at 10,000 and 10,100 points, with support levels at 9,900 and 9,800.
