The BIST 100 index opened the day with a 0.09% increase at 9,583.73 points in Borsa Istanbul.

The stock market started the new day with a flat trend. At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose by 8.90 points and 0.09% to reach 9,583.73 points compared to the previous closing.

The banking index gained 0.12%, while the holding index increased by 0.33%. Among sector indices, real estate investment trusts had the highest gain at 0.37%, while sports had the most loss at 0.89%. In the domestic market, the BIST 100 index, which followed a sales-heavy trend yesterday on the Borsa Istanbul, ended the day with a 0.28% loss at 9,574.83 points. In the global markets, uncertainties regarding the trade policies pursued by the US administration continue to complicate pricing, while news flow about the Russia-Ukraine War remains the focus of investors. Furthermore, Borsa Istanbul announced that the uptick rule applied to short selling transactions in shares included in the BIST 50 index yesterday will continue today as well. Analysts noted that technically, 9,700 and 9,750 levels are resistance levels, with 9,500 and 9,400 points serving as support levels for the BIST 100 index.
