Stock market rose in the first half

In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index gained 0.34 percent in the first half of the day. Moving in an upward trend in the first half, the BIST 100 index rose by 35.15 points and 0.34 percent to 10,494.23 points as of 13:00 compared to the previous close. The total trading volume was 69.6 billion lira. While the banking index gained 0.57 percent, the holding index lost 0.09 percent. Among the sector indices, financial leasing factoring gained the most with 3.81 percent, while sports lost the most with 2.04 percent. In global markets, uncertainties increased with changes in US President Donald Trump’s tariff approach and mixed signals from macroeconomic data. Eyes are now on the non-farm payrolls data to be announced in the US today and a speech by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. Analysts pointed out that the treasury cash balance in the afternoon domestically and Powell’s speech and non-farm payrolls data in the US would be followed abroad, noting that technically the BIST 100 index is at resistance levels of 10,600 and 10,700 points and support levels of 10,400 and 10,300.
