The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day with a 0.15% increase at 9,352.49 points. At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose by 13.91 points and 0.15% to reach 9,352.49 points compared to the previous close. The banking index gained 0.04% while the holding index increased by 0.44%. Among the sector indices, tourism was the only gainer with 0.85%, while sports had the most significant loss at 1.47%. Following a predominantly bullish trend yesterday, the BIST 100 index closed the day with a 0.68% gain at 9,338.58 points in Borsa Istanbul.
In the global markets, uncertainties arise as investors find it challenging to make decisions due to the frequent changes in the customs tariff policies by US President Donald Trump and concerns escalate about the escalating tension between the US and China, thus keeping the risk perception at a high level. Analysts noted that today, market participants will be monitoring the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) survey domestically and the Producer Price Index (PPI) in the US, as well as a speech by European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde in the Eurozone. From a technical standpoint, they mentioned that the resistance levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,450 and 9,550 points, with support levels at 9,300 and 9,200 points.
