The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day with a 0.13% increase at 9,496.81 points. At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose by 12.55 points and 0.13% to reach 9,496.81 points compared to the previous close. While the banking index lost 0.02% in value, the holding index gained 0.32% in value. Among the sector indices, the textile leather sector gained the most with 0.76%, while the stone earth sector lost the most with 0.29%. In the domestic market, the BIST 100 index, which followed a sales-heavy trend yesterday, ended the day at 9,523.31 points with a 1.41% loss. In the global markets, the selling pressure created by the tariffs announced by US President Donald Trump continued to have an effect, while attention turned to the statements by US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell and the non-farm payroll data to be announced in the US today. Analysts expressed that today, the real effective exchange rate domestically and Powell’s statements internationally, along with the non-farm payroll data in the US, would be closely monitored, mentioning that technically the BIST 100 index has resistance at 9,600 and 9,700 points, with support levels at 9,400 and 9,300.
