The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day with a 0.05% decrease at 10,453.65 points.

At the opening, the BIST 100 index fell to 10,453.65 points with a decrease of 5.43 points and 0.05% from the previous close. The banking index lost 0.05%, while the holding index lost 0.27%. Among sector indices, communication was the biggest gainer with 0.46%, while sports suffered the most significant loss at 1.91%. In the domestic market, Borsa Istanbul, which followed a predominantly buying trend yesterday, ended the day with a 2.65% gain, closing at 10,459.08 points.

UPWARD TICK RULE Furthermore, Borsa Istanbul decided to apply the upward tick rule on stocks included in the BIST 50 Index for today’s session, valid for a whole day in short selling transactions. Analysts noted that today, domestically, the Market Participants Survey of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), treasury cash balance, and internationally, the speech of Fed Chairman Powell in the US, non-farm payrolls, and growth data in Eurozone will be monitored. They also mentioned that technically, the BIST 100 index has support at 10,250 and 10,000 points, with resistance levels at 10,500 and 10,600.
