In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index dropped by 0.5 percent to 9,902 points in the first half of the day. Moving with a downward trend in the first half, the BIST 100 index fell to 9,902.31 points, down 49.34 points and 0.5 percent from the previous closing level by 13:00. The total trading volume was 38.7 billion lira. While the banking index lost 0.82 percent, the holding index gained 0.22 percent. Among the sector indices, financial leasing factoring was the biggest gainer with 2.31 percent, and the metal primary industry was the biggest loser with 1.23 percent. Global markets saw a mixed course with concerns over the US increasing additional tariffs, and attention turned to US inflation data to be released this week. Analysts noted that the afternoon data agenda was calm both domestically and internationally, and technically, the BIST 100 index had support at 9,800 and 9,750 points, with resistance at 9,950 and 10,000 levels.
