The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul decreased by 1.37% in the first half of the day, falling to 9,480.91 points. Moving in a downtrend in the first half of the day, the BIST 100 index fell to 9,480.91 points, showing a decrease of 131.92 points and 1.37% from the previous close as of 13.00. The total trading volume was 34.7 billion lira. The banking index lost 2.15%, while the holding index lost 0.79%. Among the sector indices, mining gained the most with 0.57%, while insurance lost the most with 3.57%. Global markets are on a negative course due to concerns that trade wars may escalate further ahead of tariff decisions to be announced in the US next week, with focus today on the personal spending data to be released in the US. Analysts stated that the domestic data agenda is calm in the afternoon, while in the US, personal spending (PCE) and the University of Michigan consumer sentiment index will be monitored, mentioning that technically the support levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,400 and 9,300 points, and the resistance levels are at 9,600 and 9,700 levels.
