The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul decreased by 0.36 percent in the first half of the day, falling to 9,810 points. Showing a downward trend in the first half of the day, the BIST 100 index dropped by 35.65 points and 0.36 percent to 9,810.20 points as of 13:00 from the previous closing. The total trading volume reached 37.7 billion Turkish liras. The banking index gained 0.48 percent, while the holding index lost 0.55 percent. Among the sector indices, financial leasing factoring gained the most with 3.49 percent, while the most significant loser was securities investment trust with 1.66 percent. Amidst global markets, pricing complications continued due to the tariff announcements by the US President Donald Trump, with focus shifting to the speech Fed Chairman Jerome Powell will deliver at the US Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs today. Analysts noted that the domestic data agenda is calm in the afternoon, while attention will be on Powell’s speech and Bank of England (BoE) Governor Andrew Bailey’s speech overseas. From a technical standpoint, they highlighted that 9,800 and 9,750 points are support levels, with 9,950 and 10,000 levels acting as resistance for the BIST 100 index.
