The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul ended the day down 1.41% at 9,523.31 points. The BIST 100 index lost 136.17 points, with a total trading volume of 92.5 billion Turkish lira. While the banking index gained 0.38%, the holding index lost 1.88%. The sports sector recorded the highest gain at 4.74%, while the construction sector had the highest loss at 2.54%. Global markets were mixed today amid ongoing uncertainty about the tariffs expected to be announced by US President Donald Trump. Tomorrow, domestic inflation data and ECB meeting minutes, Producer Price Index (PPI) in the Eurozone, and Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for the service sector in the US and Europe will be closely monitored. From a technical standpoint, the BIST 100 index has resistance levels at 9,600 and 9,700, with support at 9,400 and 9,300 points. Economists participating in the AA Financial Inflation Expectation Survey estimate a 2.87% increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in March. Based on the average inflation expectations for March (2.87%), economists predict that the annual inflation rate, which was 39.05% the previous month, will fall to 38.66%, and their year-end inflation expectation for 2025 as of March is 30.62%.
