Stock Exchange Starts the Week with an Increase

The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the week with a 0.13% increase, opening at 9,890.23 points. At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose to 9,890.23 points with an increase of 12.64 points and 0.13% compared to the previous close. The banking index gained 0.14%, while the holding index gained 0.13%. Among the sector indices, financial leasing factoring provided the highest gain with 0.97%, while securities investment trusts incurred the highest loss with 0.29%. In the domestic market, the BIST 100 index ended Friday with a 0.37% loss, closing at 9,877.59 points. Global markets continue to search for direction due to concerns about the consequences of the United States’ customs duty policies. The steps taken by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding customs duties continue to impact the world economies caught in the dilemma of inflation and recession. Analysts pointed out that today, domestic budget balance and external trade balance data in the Eurozone will be monitored, emphasizing that technically, the BIST 100 index has resistance at 9,950 and 10,000 points, and support at 9,800 and 9,700 levels.
