The Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, reported that the economic cooperation meeting between Turkey and the European Union (EU) took place in a very constructive atmosphere. Sharing his thoughts on the meeting held in Brussels, Mehmet Şimşek expressed a consensus on enhancing economic relations and increasing collaboration in all areas with the EU. Minister Şimşek used the following words on social media: “After a 6-year hiatus, we had the Turkey-European Union High-Level Economic Dialogue meeting today in Brussels, in a very constructive atmosphere. Productive discussions with our EU counterparts resulted in a consensus on enhancing economic relations and increasing collaboration in all areas. Additionally, the modernization of the Customs Union and visa facilitation were discussed. The deepening of relations with Europe-based international financial institutions was also considered. It was decided that the next High-Level Economic Dialogue meeting between Turkey and the EU will be held in our country.”
