It has been reported that the Machinery and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) will invest 2 billion lira in the defense industry in Samsun. During a visit to the governor’s office, MKE’s General Director, Ilhami Keleş, and Deputy General Director, İrfan Özsert, informed Governor Orhan Tavlı that construction work has started on a factory where the company will produce defense industry products with a 2 billion lira investment at the former Çarşamba Sugar Factory premises in Samsun. Governor Tavlı expressed his pleasure that MKE produces strategic products needed by the Turkish Armed Forces through domestic resources. He highlighted that the establishment of MKE’s Çarşamba Production Campus demonstrates the company’s commitment to its national duty and history, reinforcing our independence and supporting a stronger future. Governor Tavlı stated that this significant investment by MKE, which will contribute to the growth of Samsun with its developed industry, expanding economy, young and talented workforce, investment, production, employment, and export-oriented growth strategy, will add strength to Samsun’s power, making a substantial impact on the Samsun Century. The MKE investment will bring great momentum to the Samsun Century.
