The focus of millions of retirees has shifted to holiday bonuses. The rate of increase for the 3,000 lira bonuses is eagerly awaited. The subject of holiday bonuses is expected to be discussed at the Economy Coordination Board meeting. The board will convene in Giresun on February 21st. Minister of Labor and Social Security, Işıkhan, had mentioned that it is still too early to determine the figure.Retirees will receive holiday bonuses in March and June this year. Those receiving retirement and disability pensions from SSK and Bağ-Kur will benefit from the program. Those who become eligible for retirement as of March 1st will also be eligible for the bonus.Retiree bonuses are expected to be deposited into accounts by March 28th lastest. Last year’s holiday bonuses were increased to 3,000 lira and a total of 6,000 lira was paid to retirees.The figure of 3,500 to 4,000 lira has been discussed in the public for the bonuses. If there is a 30% increase in retiree bonuses, it will rise to 3,900 lira. If the increase is 35%, it will be 4,050 lira. If there is a 40% increase, it will reach 4,200 lira. If it is 50%, it will rise to 4,500 lira. Additionally, retirees had received a 15.75% increase in June. If bonuses are increased by this percentage, they will reach 3,472 lira.
