Record in Exports to Slovenia

Turkey achieved the highest monthly export to Slovenia of all time with 371.5 million dollars. Economic relations between Turkey and Slovenia have been gaining momentum and continuing to develop in recent years. The “Strategic Partnership Document” signed between Turkey and Slovenia in 2011 has facilitated the acceleration of bilateral relations in many areas. Despite not containing a trade commitment, the document has contributed to the increase in commercial relations between the two countries in recent years. As a result, commercial relations between the parties have started to show stable growth. To further develop cooperation between the two countries, many sectors such as energy, logistics, health, construction, telecommunications, security, energy, oil and gas, transportation, information technologies, automation solutions, steel construction, logistics and storage, aluminum and metal, defense, and aviation have significant potential.
According to data compiled from the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM), Turkey conducted the highest monthly export of all time to Slovenia with 371.5 million dollars. Turkey’s exports to Slovenia increased by 119.3% in January compared to the same period last year.
IN THE INDUSTRIAL SECTOR
When looked at sectorally, the automotive industry achieved the highest exports to Slovenia with 170.9 million dollars. Following the automotive sector, chemical substances and products exported 170.3 million dollars, the steel sector exported 5.5 million dollars, the electrical and electronic sector exported 4.1 million dollars, and the air conditioning industry exported 3.4 million dollars. Slovenia also conducted exports worth 3.3 million dollars in ready-to-wear and clothing, 3.1 million dollars in machinery and parts, 3.1 million dollars in textiles and raw materials, 2.8 million dollars in iron and non-iron metals, and 911 thousand dollars in mining products. Thus, in January, 9 out of the top 10 industrial sectors exporting to Slovenia were part of the industrial sector.
CHEMICAL SECTOR LEADS
The sector that increased exports to Slovenia the most in terms of value in January was chemical substances and products, reaching 163.7 million dollars. In export growth, this sector was followed by the automotive industry with 31.7 million dollars, steel with 2.8 million dollars, ready-to-wear and clothing with 1.8 million dollars, and air conditioning industry with 1.8 million dollars. When looked at by province, exports were made from Kocaeli to Slovenia worth 312.6 million dollars, from Istanbul worth 18.1 million dollars, from Bursa worth 17.2 million dollars, from Sakarya worth 3.7 million dollars, and from Izmir worth 3.5 million dollars.
