Record High in Central Bank Reserves

The Central Bank reserves hit a record high by increasing from $167.5 billion to $173.2 billion in the week of February 14th. Gross foreign exchange reserves exceeded $100 billion for the first time in 8 years.
The Central Bank released its weekly money and banking statistics.
According to the data, the CBRT’s total reserves reached a record high by rising from $167.492 million to $173.152 million with a 3.4% increase in the week of February 14th.
The gross foreign exchange reserves increased by $3.748 million to $100.677 million. Gross foreign exchange reserves were at $96.929 million on February 7th.
As a result, gross foreign exchange reserves surpassed $100 billion for the first time in 8 years.
During this period, gold reserves rose from $70.563 million to $72.475 million.
Excluding swaps, net reserves also reached a record high of $71.5 billion. In the previous week, net reserves excluding swaps were at $65.1 billion.
