Record Export to Slovenia

Turkey achieved the highest monthly export ever to Slovenia with 371.5 million dollars. The economic relations between Turkey and Slovenia have been gaining momentum and developing in recent years. The “Strategic Partnership Document” signed between Turkey and Slovenia in 2011 has led to an increase in bilateral relations in many areas. Although the document did not contain a trade commitment, it contributed to the recent growth in commercial relations between the two countries. Consequently, trade relations between the parties have begun to show stable growth. In order to further develop cooperation between the two countries, there is great potential in sectors such as energy, logistics, health, construction, telecommunications, security, energy, oil and gas, transportation, information technologies, automation solutions, steel construction, logistics and storage, aluminum and metal, defense, and aviation. According to data compiled from the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM), Turkey achieved the highest monthly export ever to Slovenia with 371.5 million dollars. Turkey’s exports to Slovenia increased by 119.3 percent in January compared to the same period last year.
IN THE INDUSTRIAL SECTOR
When looked at sectorally, the automotive industry carried out the most exports to Slovenia with 170.9 million dollars. Following the automotive sector, the country also exported chemical substances and products worth 170.3 million dollars, the steel sector with 5.5 million dollars, the electric and electronic sector with 4.1 million dollars, and the air conditioning industry with 3.4 million dollars. Slovenia also had exports in ready-to-wear clothing and apparel worth 3.3 million dollars, machinery and parts worth 3.1 million dollars, textiles and raw materials worth 3.1 million dollars, iron and non-ferrous metals worth 2.8 million dollars, and mining products worth 911 thousand dollars. As a result, 9 of the top 10 sectors exporting to Slovenia in January were in the industrial sector.
CHEMICAL SECTOR LEADS THE WAY
The sector that saw the most increase in exports to Slovenia in terms of value in January was the chemical substances and products sector with 163.7 million dollars. In the export increase, this sector was followed by the automotive industry with 31.7 million dollars, steel with 2.8 million dollars, ready-to-wear clothing and apparel with 1.8 million dollars, and air conditioning industry with 1.8 million dollars. In terms of provinces, exports to the country were made from Kocaeli with 312.6 million dollars, Istanbul with 18.1 million dollars, Bursa with 17.2 million dollars, Sakarya with 3.7 million dollars, and Izmir with 3.5 million dollars.
