In the first two months of the year, customs seized narcotics and commercial goods worth 8.1 billion lira. The Ministry of Trade’s Customs Enforcement Teams achieved a 63% increase compared to last year, seizing 8.1 billion lira worth of commercial goods and narcotics in the first two months of 2025. According to the Ministry’s statement, as a result of the operations carried out by the teams, 6.3 tons of narcotics, 31 tons of tobacco and tobacco products, 400 kilograms of precious metals, and 326 luxury vehicles were seized. From live animals to electronic devices, from historical artifacts to medical supplies, many contraband products were confiscated.
