Prices of Ramadan food packages? Supermarkets announce discounts

Supermarkets have initiated price stabilization and discount campaigns during the Ramadan season. Ramadan food packages are now on shelves starting at 370 Turkish lira. It is also expected that these discounts will support a downward trend in inflation. Local and national chain supermarkets have announced price stabilization for some products and discounts throughout the month on many items during Ramadan. Following this decision, it was stated that prices of products such as legumes, pasta, flour, and cooking oil will remain fixed. Faruk Guzeldere, the President of Istanbul Food and Essential Materials Retailers Association (Istanbul PERDER), mentioned that apart from price stabilization on some products, a 25% discount will also be applied, stating, “We have fixed prices on hundreds of shelves, thousands of products. Customers are very interested, and products are in demand.” Supermarkets had also stabilized meat prices under their protocol with the Meat and Milk Institution.
