Price Increase Champion of the Month Revealed

In March, the product with the most price increase was potatoes with 42.1 percent. Air transportation, on the other hand, decreased by 18.13 percent. In terms of consumer prices, potatoes experienced the highest price increase in March at 42.1 percent, while air transportation for passengers was identified as the most affordable category with a decrease of 18.13 percent. According to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the price increase in potatoes was followed by products related to pets at 23.85 percent, and gambling at 22.82 percent. Among other products that showed significant price increases in March were fresh vegetables (excluding potatoes) at 19.9 percent, fresh fruits at 11.21 percent, cigarettes at 10.85 percent, and breakfast cereals at 10.73 percent.
PRODUCTS WITH THE HIGHEST PRICE DECREASE
Last month, the greatest price decrease was seen in air transportation for passengers with 18.13 percent. This was followed by intercity passenger transportation by road at 5.28 percent, children’s clothing at 4.76 percent, women’s clothing at 4.57 percent, and butter at 2.74 percent.
