Turkish-İş announced the hunger threshold as 23,324 liras for a family of four in February. The poverty line has exceeded 75 liras. In February, kitchen inflation showed an increase of over 5 percent. Turkish-İş revealed the results of the hunger and poverty line research for the month of February. According to the study, the hunger threshold, which represents the amount a family of four needs to spend on food to eat healthily, balanced, and adequately, increased from 22,131 liras to 23,324 liras. Consequently, the difference between the hunger threshold and the minimum wage rose to 1,220 liras. The minimum wage for 2025 was set at 22,104 liras. The poverty line, which corresponds to the total amount of other necessary expenses for food, clothing, housing, transportation, education, health, and similar needs, increased from 72,088 liras to 75,973 liras. The cost of living for a single employee also rose from 28,756 liras to 30,206 liras per month. KITCHEN INFLATION REMAINS HIGH The kitchen inflation for a family of four living in Ankara saw a 5.39 percent increase in February compared to the previous month. The twelve-month change rate was 43.47 percent, with an annual average increase of 57.73 percent.
