Positive Start on the Stock Market

The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day with a 0.78% increase, opening at 9,855.84 points.
The stock market began the new day positively. At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose to 9,855.84 points, an increase of 76.27 points and 0.78% compared to the previous closing.
While the banking index gained 1.11% and the holding index gained 0.80%, among sector indices, construction led with a 2.36% increase, while financial leasing and factoring lost 4.02%. The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul, which followed a selling trend domestically yesterday, ended the day at 9,779.57 points, losing 1.04%. In the global markets, after mixed movements following higher-than-expected inflation data in the US and statements by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, focus shifted to the Producer Price Index (PPI) to be announced in the US today. The current account deficit was $9.97 billion in 2024. According to Central Bank data, there was a $4.65 billion deficit in the current account in December. Economists predict that the current account deficit will reach $9.651 billion in 2024 and $19.909 billion by the end of 2025. Analysts noted that technically, the resistance levels in the BIST 100 index are at 9,950 and 10,000, while the support levels are at 9,800 and 9,700 points.
