Penalty of 537 million lira imposed on 9 companies for competition violation

The Competition Board has imposed an administrative fine of 537 million lira in total on nine companies operating in the power transformer sector.

The Competition Board (CB) has decided to impose a total of 537.2 million lira in administrative fines on eight companies operating in the power transformer sector on the grounds that there was collusion in sales and price coordination by certain enterprises. In a statement issued by the CB, it was mentioned that SEM Transformatör AŞ admitted the violation by applying for a settlement, and a 25 percent reduction was granted to this company, resulting in an administrative fine of 42 million 379 thousand 948 lira. The companies involved and the amounts of penalties imposed are as follows: Astor Enerji AŞ and EFG Elektrik Enerji AŞ – 339 million 807 thousand 744 lira, Balıkesir Elektromanyetik Sanayi Tesisleri AŞ – 69 million 33 thousand 435 lira, Beta Enerji ve Teknoloji AŞ – 32 million 315 thousand 343 lira, Ekos Teknoloji ve Ticaret AŞ – 12 million 736 thousand 611 lira, Eltaş Transformatör Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ – 13 million 519 thousand 367 lira, Eva Elektromekanik Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ – 7 million 231 thousand 510 lira, Monokon Elektrik Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ – 898 thousand 433 lira, Ulusoy Elektrik İmalat Taahhüt ve Ticaret AŞ – 19 million 272 thousand 557 lira.
