Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş stated that they deposited a total of 5.4 billion lira into accounts this month to provide economic support to fully dependent citizens and their families who are cared for at home. Göktaş recalled that the Home Care Assistance program, which is one of the most important family-focused care service models offered by the ministry, was initiated in 2006 with the idea of supporting disabled individuals primarily within the family setting. Göktaş emphasized the importance of maintaining the family unity of disabled citizens by providing care for them at home without separating them from their living environment, allowing them to live with their families or loved ones and thus supporting the preservation and strengthening of family unity. Highlighting that the care of fully dependent family members in need of care is taken over by the citizens who receive support under the Home Care Assistance program, Göktaş reminded that an average of 543 thousand citizens benefit from the Home Care Assistance program monthly, with a monthly payment of 10,125 lira per eligible individual.
