Payment deadlines extended for restructuring in earthquake-affected areas

Taxpayers in 4 provinces and 2 districts affected by earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş have had their application and payment deadlines for restructuring extended. The General Communiqué on Law No. 7440 on the Restructuring of Certain Receivables, prepared by the Revenue Administration Directorate of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force. The force majeure situation declared for taxpayers in Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, and Malatya, as well as the İslahiye and Nurdağı districts of Gaziantep, following the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş, had been extended until May 31. According to the communiqué, the application and installment payment deadlines to benefit from the provisions of the “Law on the Restructuring of Certain Receivables and Amendments to Some Laws” were arranged based on the date the force majeure situation ended. Therefore, for taxpayers whose force majeure situation will end on May 31, applications under the relevant law in these areas must be made to the relevant departments by September 1, due to August 31 being a public holiday, and the first installment, including the lump sum payment, must be paid by September 30. The second installment must be paid by October 31, while the remaining installments should be paid in the following months. Local administrations, municipalities, and investment monitoring and coordination directorates whose receivables have been restructured under the law can also be applied to in the departments in the 4 provinces and 2 districts for payments within these deadlines.
