Patients Dependent on Devices at Home Exempt from New Electricity Tariff

Residences where patients living at home with electric devices due to health issues will be exempt from the new tariff that came into effect on February 1st.
Subscribers with device-dependent patients at home due to health issues will not be affected by the regulation if they present a valid health report to the electricity distribution company they are connected to. As per the new electricity tariff, groups with a consumption exceeding 417 kilowatt-hours per month in 2024, totaling 5,000 kilowatt-hours annually, will start paying the actual cost as of February 1st. 40 MILLION BILLS TO REMAIN UNCHANGED
97% of electricity subscribers will not be affected by the regulation. Out of approximately 42 million electricity subscribers, 40 million bills will remain unchanged. Furthermore, mosques, Alevi worship houses, families of martyrs, veterans, agricultural activities, village drinking water supplies, temporary shelter locations of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), as well as associations and subscribers with device-related health issues, will be exempt from the regulation. DISTRIBUTION COMPANIES TO REMIND HEALTH REPORT RENEWAL 20 DAYS IN ADVANCE
Consumers dependent on devices due to health issues will continue to have the annual limit within the last resort supply tariff as 100 million kilowatt-hours. Electricity distribution companies will process applications with written submissions from consumers who are dependent on dialysis support units, respiratory devices, and similar life support devices while having supporting documents. Companies will also remind subscribers benefiting from this exception to renew their health reports 20 days before the expiration date. In planned power outages, these consumers will be informed first by the electricity distribution companies through the communication method determined by the consumer.
