Passenger Record Broken at Airports During Bayram Holiday

In Istanbul, Esenboğa, Adnan Menderes, Antalya, Milas-Bodrum, and Dalaman airports, passenger records for the year 2025 were shattered. From March 28 to April 6, a total of 6.1 million passengers were served. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, reported that the number of passengers traveling by air in the first quarter of 2025 reached 45,175,946. During the Ramadan Bayram holiday period from March 28 to April 6, Uraloğlu stated that 6.1 million passengers were served at airports, highlighting that many airports broke passenger records for 2025. The number of passengers exceeded 45 million in the first quarter of 2025. In this period, the air traffic for takeoffs and landings at airports included 204,856 domestic flights and 164,880 international flights, totaling 500,022 flights with overflights. Uraloğlu noted, “During this time, the total passenger traffic for domestic flights across Turkey was 20,680,980 and for international flights was 24,458,978, serving a total of 45,175,946 passengers, including direct transit passengers. Compared to the same period in 2024, there was a 2.5% increase in total passenger traffic, including direct transit passengers. Airport cargo traffic reached a total of 1,038,913 tons for domestic and international flights combined.”
