Passenger Count Exceeds 30 Million in Two Months via Air Transport

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Uraloglu announced that 30,457,920 passengers traveled by air in two months. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu evaluated the air transport aircraft, passenger, and cargo data for the month of February. Uraloglu pointed out that the number of planes taking off and landing at passenger and eco-friendly airports was 58,345 domestically and 50,397 internationally, resulting in a total of 148,633 aircraft movements including transit flights. In February, the domestic passenger traffic was 6,435,916, and the international passenger traffic was 7,792,684, totaling 14,234,345 passengers travelling by air in that month, with 60,072 tons of cargo carried domestically, and 269,067 tons internationally, reaching a total of 329,139 tons of freight. Uraloglu emphasized that during January-February, 130,862 domestic flights and 108,690 international flights took place, resulting in a total of 323,986 aircraft movements alongside transit flights. He continued by stating, “Throughout Turkey, the domestic passenger traffic in airports stood at 13,977,241, and the international passenger traffic at 16,469,602 during this period. The total number of serviced passengers in two months reached 30,457,920. Cargo traffic at airports in this period amounted to 128,885 tons domestically and 565,843 tons internationally, totaling 694,727 tons.” ISTANBUL AIRPORT SERVES 5.7 MILLION PASSENGERS Uraloglu reported that there were 7,615 domestic flights and 29,209 international flights at Istanbul Airport in February, totaling 36,824 flights. He conveyed that the airport provided services to 1,085,129 domestic passengers and 4,606,896 international passengers, making a total of 5,692,025 passengers. During January-February, the airport had 16,618 domestic flights and 63,127 international flights, resulting in 79,745 flight movements, serving 2,318,780 domestic passengers and 9,807,815 international passengers, totaling 12,126,595 passengers. Uraloglu mentioned that passenger traffic at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport was 1,590,906, at Antalya Airport was 1,948,453, and at Mugla Dalaman Airport was 151,588 during the two-month period. Furthermore, Mugla Milas-Bodrum Airport serviced 188,569 passengers, whereas Gazipasa Alanya Airport had a passenger traffic of 71,012.
