The Independent Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association (MÜSİAD) stated that the opposition’s boycott calls aim to reverse the achievements of the Turkish economy, expressing their disappointment as representatives of the real sector when facing such calls. In a statement issued by MÜSİAD, it was noted that in recent years, the Turkish economy has gained great momentum with its strong production capacity, export-oriented growth model, and innovative initiatives, and local brands have shown resistance to global fluctuations thanks to their determined efforts. The statement highlighted that national brands have reached a stronger position in the international arena, and the economy has demonstrated uninterrupted positive growth performance for the past 18 quarters. The statement used the following words: “Especially considering the critical impact of domestic consumption on growth during periods of monetary tightening, boycott calls against our local brands aim to reverse the gains achieved by the Turkish economy in overcoming many challenging conditions, negatively affecting production and employment. In such a period where our country’s technological, economic, and historical advantages stand out, and there is a determined struggle to permanently reduce inflation, we, as representatives of the real sector, are saddened by statements that will jeopardize economic gains with such calls.” The statement emphasized that boycott calls against companies that provide added value to the country, create employment, and promote domestic production are not in line with the country’s interests, stating that the business world should be kept separate from political debates and all stakeholders should act with common sense for the prosperity of our country. It was also mentioned that today is the time to increase our competitiveness in the global economy, promote domestic production, support sustainable growth and employment, stand by our local brands, and continue to work together for the strengthening of the Turkish economy.
