Mobile phones will be resistant to 45 drops

Technological products like mobile phones and tablets will be made environmentally friendly. Accordingly, a minimum of 7 years of warranty will be provided for spare parts of the products. It will be mandatory for devices to be resistant to 45 drops. The regulation is expected to come into effect in June. The Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) is taking action for smartphones and tablets. In line with the European Union (EU) legislation, a draft communiqué is being prepared to make smartphones and tablets eco-friendly. According to a report in Türkiye newspaper, companies will be required to provide spare parts for mobile phones, tablets, speakers, cameras, and other technological products for at least 7 years after their market supply ends. A RESET SOFTWARE WILL BE MANDATORY. Having insurance covering the obligations arising from the activities of technicians will be required. Furthermore, devices will be required to have software that ensures the deletion of all personal information. MADE MORE DURABLE. Devices will be pledged to be resistant to 45 drops without protective coating, foil, or case. Moreover, devices will not be able to fall below a certain hardness level in terms of scratch resistance. They will be resistant to foreign objects larger than one millimeter entering and water splashes. Manufacturers and importers will be subjected to certain conditions regarding operating system updates. It is mentioned that this regulation could come into effect in June.
