Ministry Reveals 49 Products! Single-hoofed Meat, Leather in Meatballs, and Offal

The list of foods that could endanger health has been updated. In inspections, fraud was detected in 49 products ranging from minced meat to meatballs, olive oil to cheese. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry updated the list of foods that have been adulterated and could endanger health, identifying fraud in 49 products. The number of products that have been altered in a way that could endanger individuals’ lives and health has increased by 5 to 209. 44 new products were added to the list of foods adulterated or counterfeited. The number of products confirmed to have been adulterated or counterfeited in inspections reached 1,250. It was found that 3 spice companies operating in Gaziantep, listed in the foods that could endanger health, used a banned dye in their products. In the yogurt production company in Eskişehir, natamycin was found in the products. In Gaziantep, Merve Yemek company’s minced meat was also found to contain single-hoofed meat. Fraud was detected in 44 products. Companies using seed oils in olive oils, foreign substances in spices, and leather and offal in butcher’s meatballs were exposed.
