Memur-Sen calls for a salary increase for public servants

Memur-Sen has requested for the planned salary increase for some public servants to be extended to cover all civil servants. Ali Yalçın, the President of Memur-Sen, evaluated the additional increase regulation planned for the salaries of some public servants in certain titles with the relevant bill to be discussed in the Turkish Parliament. Yalçın recalled that they had presented proposals for many titles at the 7th Period Collective Bargaining table, and noted that the Ministry of Treasury and Finance had a negative approach towards these increases. Yalçın expressed that it is not correct to implement the planned salary increase for some titles without consulting with the social parties, stating, “We want the increase to cover the entirety of our public servants. We want to see all titles with salary expectations, and we want this increase to be gradually and fairly spread to all public servants.”
