Maternal Support of 5,000 Lira for Births

For children born this year and beyond, a birth support of 5,000 Turkish Liras will be provided for 60 months.

The birth support, valid for children born within the scope of the 2025 Year of the Family, aims to increase the declining young population rate in Turkey.

A one-time payment of 5,000 Turkish Liras will be made for the first child, while for the second child, a monthly payment of 1,500 Turkish Liras will be made until the child reaches the age of 5 (including the sixtieth month) from the month the application is submitted. For the third and subsequent children, a monthly payment of 5,000 Turkish Liras will be made until the child reaches the age of 5 (including the sixtieth month) from the month the application is submitted.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will have the authority to increase these amounts. The payments will be made from the Social Solidarity and Assistance Fund. The birth support will be paid without being subject to any taxes or deductions and cannot be garnished. In case of unjustified payments due to false declarations by those benefiting from the birth support, the repayments will be made with interest calculated at the delayed payment rate specified in Article 51 of Law No. 6183, taking into account the period from the date of payment to the date of collection, by the institution making the payment notifying the unjustly benefited individual with a written notice. If the payments are not made within this period, these receivables will be reported to the relevant tax office and pursued and collected in accordance with the provisions of the said Law.

HOW TO APPLY FOR BIRTH SUPPORT? Birth Support applications, after the child’s registration is completed in the Population Registry Directorate’s Identity Sharing System (KPS) following the live birth, are to be filled out and signed in full in the “Birth Support Application Form” and submitted in person, by registered mail or cargo. Applications are made to the Provincial Directorates of Family and Social Services or Social Services Centers. Regardless of status (including those employed by public institutions through service procurement), public employees apply to the institution where they are employed. Applications of those living abroad are accepted by Embassies and Consulates. If individuals living abroad are in Turkey, they can apply to any Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services or Social Services Center.
