Major privatization plan from Russia

The Russian Ministry of Finance has reportedly been working on a large privatization process, including companies seized. Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov announced that they aim to start a major privatization process in Russia, including companies seized as a result of court decisions. Speaking at an event in the capital Moscow, Siluanov said they need to develop new strategies for development. Siluanov mentioned that they conducted a study last year to identify dormant assets and said, “We will prepare a proposal for a major privatization process. We believe it is a good time to address privatization in 2025.” Siluanov also addressed companies seized by court order, stating, “We aim to generate revenue of about 100 billion rubles (approximately 1.2 billion dollars) from the sale of these companies.” In response to sanctions, Western companies such as Danone and Carlsberg had trustees appointed in Russia.
