Istanbul Airport is starting simultaneous triple independent runway operations today, making Turkey the first country in Europe to implement this practice.

The era of simultaneous triple independent runways begins at Istanbul Airport.

With this system, Istanbul Airport will be able to handle 3 aircraft landing and taking off at the same time. While triple independent runway operations are already in place in the US, Turkey has become the first country in Europe to implement this. Speaking at the Istanbul Airport Triple Runway Flight Operation Launch Ceremony, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu stated that Turkey has spread its wings beyond its borders.

Uraloglu highlighted that Istanbul Airport has elevated to the highest level of global aviation.
